I was recommended Melia Bavi Mountain Retreat by a travel agency. Before the trip, I saw a lot of pictures about this property. This resort is truly a gem of a find in Ba Vi (driving distance 2 hours from Hanoi city center). This resort chooses to compete on service, architecture and location – as I wish all resorts in the north would.
We stayed only for 1 night but the kind and caring staff made our stay felt like a week of relaxing getaway. The whole hotel area is in very good shape with beautiful interior design inspired by Vietnamese culture. We was staying in the Family suite room which had a brilliant architectural design. Room is comfortable and clean with great mountain and forest view. We loved the 4-season swimming pool surrounded by French ancient marks.
The breakfast a la carte in the next morning was fantastic (included in the price of the room) and was served at the Sense restaurant. The buffet was a very intelligently curated selection of ‘Western’ offerings as well as Vietnamese favourites – we went for the latter as my partner is definitely Vietnamese food fans. We ate at the restaurant once for lunch and having room service also. All is more than perfect and I can not ask for more of a location in the mountainous place like this.
I wish to come back here in the summer time. Melia is just the ideal getaway to relax and liven up your senses.
