Racing into the Timeless City

Despite its rapid growth, Hanoi still keeps a nostalgic feeling of the past. The ancient beauty of the old architecture preserved by Hanoi’s authority make Hanoi a famous tourist site.

Seemingly to be so charmed by its beauty that F1’s owner Liberty Media had decided to make Hanoi the 2020 destination for Grand Prix. The event is confirmed to be hosted by Grand Prix Vietnam, which is owned by Vingroup.

Vietnam will be the 5th Asian country after China, Singapore, South Korea and Japan to have this honor. The conglomerate Vingroup had established Vietnam Grand Prix in 2018 in order to prepare for 2020 Grand Prix.

Historic Grand Prix Zandvoort

There has been no definite schedule for when the actual race will happen, but there are some news that say it will be starting in April 2020. The Motosport team of F1 race is collaborating with the City of Hanoi and the conglomerate Vingroup to work on a circuit that will guarantee to challenge the drivers as well as piquing the passion of the fans. The racing course is rumored to be near My Dinh national stadium, and part of the circuit will be based on some current public roads.

Mr. Charlie Whiting, F1 race director had personally came to Hanoi and inspected the facility to ensure it would be ready for the 2020 race for fans worldwide. He had confirmed himself the facility is no doubts ready to be raced.

This event will only be the first start to many more famous worldwide events. Vietnam hopes to be the host of many more events to come in the near future, such as Fashion Week or World Cup.
