Itinerary
Upon arrival at Bhutan’s only international gateway, Paro International Airport, you will be welcomed with breathtaking views as your plane descends into the scenic valley — truly one of the most thrilling landings in the world.
We begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Buddha Dordenma Statue, where you can feel the serene essence of Buddhism and experience true peace and harmony overlooking the Thimphu Valley.
Next, we head to the Takin Preserve Centre, home to Bhutan’s unique national animal, the Takin. Nestled within a peaceful pine forest, the sanctuary also houses a few deer and other native species, offering a glimpse of Bhutan’s gentle wildlife.
We then continue to Zilukha Nunnery, where you’ll have the chance to engage with female monks (nuns) and observe their daily prayers and rituals in a tranquil temple setting. Afterwards, enjoy a short city exploration featuring local highlights such as the traffic-free junctions, Clock Tower Square, and the Craft Bazaar, where you can browse handmade Bhutanese arts and souvenirs.
After lunch, we proceed to Punakha, a district with a distinctly different atmosphere. The journey takes us through the spectacular Dochu La Pass, where on a clear day you’ll be treated to sweeping views of the eastern Himalayas. The pass is also home to the striking 108 memorial chortens (stupas), a beautiful symbol of peace and spirituality.
Upon arrival in Punakha, check in at your hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

After breakfast, we begin our sightseeing tour of Punakha before returning to Paro.
Our visits in Punakha include the majestic Punakha Dzong (Fortress), beautifully situated at the confluence of two rivers, and the suspension bridge, one of the longest in Bhutan, offering breathtaking views of the valley. We will also stop by the Khuru Temple and the famous Fertility Temple (Chimi Lhakhang), dedicated to the Divine Madman, Lama Drukpa Kunley.
After lunch, we drive back to Paro along the same scenic route, taking time to once again enjoy the mountain views and landscapes we passed earlier. Upon arrival in Paro, enjoy a leisurely walk through the town, explore local shops, and experience the relaxed atmosphere of this charming valley. Overnight in Paro.
Today marks the highlight of your Bhutan journey — a hike to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang Monastery).
We will drive to the trailhead located north of the Paro Valley, from where the trek begins. The hike is both inspiring and rewarding, offering stunning views of pristine forests, fluttering prayer flags, and a serene waterfall along the way. Perched dramatically on a sheer cliff about 900 meters above the valley floor, the monastery—nearly 400 years old—is one of Bhutan’s most sacred and iconic landmarks. The tranquil sounds of nature and the melodies of birds accompany you throughout the ascent, adding to the meditative beauty of the experience.
After returning to Paro, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the town or visit nearby villages. In the evening, indulge in a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath, a perfect way to soothe your muscles after the hike and rejuvenate your body the local way.

The itinerary can be flexible base on your arrival flight schedule; some sites can be visited
Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary, depending on weather conditions, road conditions, flight schedules and room availability, local or religious festivals, unforeseen circumstances, the sequence of itinerary may need to be changed or alternative sites substituted at short notice, some sites can be visited today to have more time at sites or adding some other sites in the next day (with small surcharge).
Some programs may alter due to local conditions, the size of the group and other unexpected circumstances. We will do our very best to adhere to the set itinerary, however we cannot be held responsible for any last minute changes that might occur. In all such circumstances, the guide will have the final say.
