Next, take part in a hands-on Lao cooking class, where you’ll discover the rich flavors and techniques of traditional Lao cuisine. Explore the park’s lush gardens and pick fresh ingredients for your dishes.
The class includes at least five seasonal dishes, ensuring the use of the freshest local produce. You’ll also receive a recipe booklet so you can recreate these authentic dishes at home.

Today, embark on a scenic boat journey up the Mekong River, passing through lush green forests and stunning limestone karst landscapes. Along the way, stop at local villages and visit the sacred Pak Ou Caves - two linked caves filled with thousands of gold-lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes, left by devoted pilgrims over centuries.
After exploring the caves, continue by car to Nong Khiaw, a charming riverside town nestled along the tranquil Nam Ou River.
After lunch (on your own account), visit the Phathok Caves, located about a 30-minute gentle walk from town through beautiful countryside. These caves once served as a shelter for villagers during the “Secret War.” Explore this historic site and enjoy panoramic views of rice fields and the surrounding valley before walking back to Nong Khiaw.
In the evening, relax and watch the sunset over the Nam Ou River. Dinner can be enjoyed at one of the cozy local restaurants nearby (on your own account). Overnight in Nong Khiaw.
Begin your day at 8:00 AM with a local longboat ride upstream, passing through stunning river scenery. Your first stop will be a small riverside village, where you can stroll around and, if it’s a weekday, visit the local school to meet the children during class.
Continue the journey to Tad Mork Waterfall, located near the Khmu village of Ban Sop Kong, about an hour’s trek from the river. Enjoy time to relax, swim, and savor a picnic lunch amidst the peaceful natural surroundings.
Afterward, return to the river and cruise further upstream to Muang Ngoy, a picturesque riverside town surrounded by dramatic limestone mountains. Despite its growing popularity, the village still retains its authentic charm. If time permits, stop at a riverside café for a refreshing drink before heading back downstream.
On the return journey, pass through a narrow gorge and stop at another small, fascinating village along the way.
Arrive back in Nong Khiaw around sunset and unwind for the evening. Overnight in Nong Khiaw.

Your guide will prepare a local-style lunch at the falls, letting you savor authentic Lao flavors amid stunning natural scenery.
After lunch, follow a village trail from the top of the waterfalls, offering sweeping views over the Nam Ou Valley as you descend back toward the village. Spend a bit more time there interacting with locals before continuing downstream by boat to the electricity dam.
